Senegal's player Baba Gaya has admitted that his national team made a mistake by leaving the field during the final match of the Africa Cup of Nations against Morocco. Gaya scored the winning goal for 'The Lions of Teranga' against the hosts (1-0) in Rabat last week after a thrilling and controversial match filled with chaos. The anger of the Senegalese players flared up late in the game after 'The Atlas Lions' were awarded a penalty, leading them to decide to leave the field, which caused the match to be stopped for about 20 minutes. Baba Gaya said: 'We are human after all, we realized our mistake and came back to the field... anyone can make a mistake.' Gaya praised his teammate Sadio Mané, who stayed on the field calling on his teammates to return to finish the match, saying: 'We owe him a great deal of gratitude'.
